Linux vs Solaris

Can I obtain Solaris Certification and still work as Linux Admin?

Same way getting a motorbike licence doesn't automatically mean you're never allowed in a car again, yes

jefro 06-03-2009 05:35 PM

Sure can, (if the company doesn't know the difference.)

Absolutely. Might open up some new opportunities too - the sort of places that run Solaris /tend/ to be the sort of places that like certifications.

Thew is a lot of similarities between the 2

so anything you learn on solaris will most likley be similiar but not exactly the same on the various linux platforms,
if you can do one and have some degree of flexibility then you can do them all!
