Smile Linux VM slow only on home wi-fi network, not on any other !

Hello,
I have a Mac OSX, that has VMWare fusion. I have couple of Linux VMs, Centos 64 and older one. But when I start those, open firefox, and try to access internet, it is Extremely slow ! Each website takes about a 2-3 mins to load.

Surprisingly, if I am on some other wi-fi network such as hotels, airports, the internet thru same Linux VM is perfectly fine. It is not slow like home network.

I have comcast, Netgear nighthawk R7000. I called netgear, but they said they have NO linux support, and recommended to look at Linux forums..

Please pl help.. This is annoying issue.

Thank you.
Speshkar.

It may ne a limitation on speed thru your carrier. Go to speednet on your host system & check upload & dowload rates. You can also check the speed of the other places that are faster. I will tell you that on 1 of my networks I have the same problem because the download rate is only 2.5 & upload is rediculously low.

Thanks for reply.
At home, the network is pretty fast on the host Macbook pro, its about 25 mbps download 8 mbps upload.. So I don't think that's issue. Especially because, from hotels, the network is probably one fifth of the speed ( 4-5 mbps), but the linux VMs there, still have really good internet speed.

My apologies I meant DMZ , you'll have to lookup info on your router to change the settings.
