Linux Viruses??Newbie

Hello, I have a big concern lately about linux security and that stuff.I read about lots of threats for the system...
Suposing that noone has has an eye on you over the net for breaking in your system ,how linux gets trojans viruses, spyware, malware???
I surf over the internet only as typical user with paranoid mode security.
I run suse 10 |.2.Where the cookies are stored from firefox?Do they pose a threat? And why firefox doesn't asks me for receiving cookies?

I thank all of you putting out my anxiety

to view your cookies go into Edit->Prefrences->Privacy->Cookie
There are settings there for cookie handling, like if you want to be asked for each cookie
Cookies rarely cause a security threat, they mostly just track you around the net and so sites
can recognize you if you re-return. firefox has many security/cookie handling/insanely paranoid
extensions if you want to up your security that much more.
