Lightbulb Linux virtual memory data structures

The "mem-map" data structure stores the page table entires for each zone .Then how the user process address space is mapped using this structure?

The "task structure , mm_struct , and vma_struct " for each process is stored in the kernel memory region .My question is how many of the task structures , mmstruct and vma strcutre is stored in the physical memory . will these data structres will be swapped in to the disk?

Regards
Sivakumar

Your question, or your supervisor's question?

A really good book with more detailed info is "The Linux Kernel Programmers Handbook". I have it right here, but such a technical question in the Newbie thread makes me think this might be a uni question and I wouldnt want to help cheating. Please don't take offense if you generally require help, but we have to be on guard against such things and that book really will help you.
