Hello! I'm really confused about what to install in order to have GNUstep working on my computer + a gcc compiler and the make install.
First, I have a mac OS 10.3.9 with Darwin 7.9. I think. And I installed GNU-Darwin-ppc-1.1.cdr on my system and thats make a lot of thing like the directory of GNUstep...but nothing seems to work! No application and no more command to use..
Can you help me or tell me where to find easy information for beginner like me to understand?
from: open darwin
There is actually a README.darwin (or something similarly named) in the GNUstep source that pretty much lays it out for you (the one big drawback is you have to compile FSF's gcc).
How far did you get through the source documentation?

Well, I never really found a source documentation for my platform, so I read some but didnt help me a lot, because they werent explaining (i think) the exact procedure to install these correctly.
If you tell me where to find one, Ill make great effort to read and try to install what I must like gcc compiler.....
knowing nothing about darwin ... you will need gcc and all the libraries, including development libraries, for everything used by GNUstep. This will include graphics libraries and so on.
The documentation comes with the source tarball you want to install from. There won't be an exact howto in there ... try: machines.texi in the make/Documentation subdirectory.
