Linux/TLC5958: Driving through Raspberry Pi GPIO

Hi,

I want to drive one or more TLC 5958 (http://www.ti.com/product/TLC5958/samplebuy ) using raspberry pi gpio (non cascaded). I went through datasheet but found it to be too vague about software part.

1. Can anyone point me towards relevant documents and sample codes?

2. Has anyone driven this one or similar IC using user mode DMA from raspberry pi? For my application I need communication in MHz. Does anyone have any experience about it?

Thanks

Hi hbayntun,

Welcome to LQ!

On page 20 of the datasheet there is an email link to request the application notes for that driver IC. You're going to need to look at that before anything else,

I don't think we're quite to the software stage.
