Linux Terminal Server With Remote Login

Windows offers a terminal server which allows clients to open a client software, enter the ip of the terminal server and a user name and password. This enables them to login to the machine remotely and use the graphical environment.

Is there something like this available in linux. I have seen the LTSP but it seems to only be for local machines. I am looking for something that someone can use remotely. . .

any ideas?
