Thumbs up linux system space crisis

The /home directory on my server has been heavily used with web/video files. With the coming demanding, I need more space. Is it passable to add a hard drive into the system and make it an expansion of the existing /home directory or any other advice to solve the coming space crisis.

Thank you so much!!!

I do not think you can "extend" your home directory to the new HDD. However, if you add a new HDD, reserve that partition for your multimedia only.

You can put the mount point of the new drive in the /home directory. Say mount the drive (FS) to /home/MediaStorage. Although the space is not contiguous with home the mount point will appear as any other sub directory.
