linux SMP question
If I have SMP kernel would it work with single processor or only work with multiple processors system?

Thank you how about other way, if I have multiple processors and IF I loand singe cpu kernel? Would it only detect one cpu?

There is a quad core processor loaded with SMP kernel, but is shows as 8 processors. Isn't is suppose to be 4 processors?

Can you post /proc/cpuinfo? If the cpu supports hyperthreading, each hyperthread will be shown as a single processor.
