Linux Server HELP
 

Please help me I have installed linux RH9 on a box and I have to get the connection from an Microsoft Internet conection sharing(a WinME box). Help me configure it. !

leave it on dhcp

On the linux box I left the dhcp but still doesnt work.
NOTE: there are many boxes conected to the winme server.

i take it Internet Connection Sharing is turned on, on the WinME box if you have other machines sharing the net connection.?

Drop to a prompt and type 'neat' this will open up the graphical network config utility. Click on your ethernet card connection and click 'edit'.

Change your gateway to the IP of the WinME machine.

This works for me (I am using a Win2K) box though. It should be the same.

when the server boots up it gives the FAILED sign on the Bringing up eth0 interface.

TheRealDeal i've configured the network with the neat config tool like you said, and not it gives me the OK sign when bringing up the eth0. But if I try for example to ping a host it doesnt resolv the host. Do I have to config other tools or do I need a special host for the linux box. Xcuse my newbieness

do I have to define somekind of workgroup ?
