Linux RH 6.0 Cluster on VmWare workstation 7.1
Hello all. I am trying for learning purpose (I need to make a quick demo on how a cluster works) to put up a RH cluster on a vmware machine. Has anyone done this?
I Have problems (really, I do not know how to do that) in defininf the quorum disk and a shared disk. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Flavio |
you want to VM a hardware cluster of what 4/8/16 machines
use 4/8/16 computers and build a cluster you will have a rather hard time doing this on ONE computer running 4/8/16 vm's also " Linux RH 6.0 " is ANCIENT RH6.0 came out in April of 1999 over 14 years ago if you are going to even try to use that use hardware that has Windows98 or win95 on it As in 14 to 16 year old computers |
Thanks but the fact is that here RH 6.0 is still used in production envirnoments no matter how ancient it is and if I needed this suggestion I would have asked my cat who knows better

rh6 also went "End Of Life" back in 2006
there has been no support for it for 7 years scene then there has been RH7 RH8 RH9 RHEL2 RHEL3 RHEL4 EHEL5 and RHEL6 with RHEL 6.4 the current OS redhat is only supporting RHEL4.9 , RHEL5.X and RHEL6.X see the redhat life cycle https://access.redhat.com/support/po...ta/?cid=378164 ( none of the ancient RH's are listed ) rh6 predates almost everyone here , except for a few "old timers" it also uses the very old "Linux 2.2.5" kernel the 2.2 kernel is not supported any longer . now for the current RHEL6.4 ( a support contract IS a requirement ! ) for a cluster install on servers https://www.redhat.com/wapps/store/catalog.html contact RedHat sales and read the install guide -- for cluster administration https://access.redhat.com/site/docum...ion/index.html but this is for the CURRENT os and NOT for the 14 year old RH6 |
