Hi. Iam a linux newbie. My interest in linux started in summer this year.
I have an e-Machines T2341 an I want to install linux redhat 9 on it.
It has an AMD athlon 2300+ processor and 128 mb of ram. The motherboard is a VIA L7VMM2. It has XP home preinstalled. I want to an 8 gb partition for the windows and want to use the remainig space for linux.
I was trying to install linux on it but I couldn't get to install it . First, the installation doesn't go in the graphical mode but in the text mode which is boring. I got the partitioning and everything all right. It started the install upto 4% and then a message popped up saying that there was some problem with the hardware compatibility. Can some body figure out why this has happened....
My friend had helped me to instal linux earlier but I couldn't get to install it on this machine.
Please reply to this or send me a mail. My e-mail id is
