Linux Red Hat - subscription-manager

# cat /etc/*-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 8)

Normally I would run this command:
subscription-manager register --username 'username' --password 'password'

but I am getting:
subscription-manager: command not found

I am wondering, with using

# rhn_register

How can I associate my login and password to assign this system to my Red Hat account?

You don't, because RHEL 4.8 is no longer supported/updated/patched via the Red Hat network. If you've got a paid subscription, the best people to call about any support options (if they even exist), is your Red Hat support contact.

It is in extended (as in: ONLY critical things fixed, and very pricey) support until March 2017. But that won't get you much:

as above

Contact redhat
but ONLY!!! 4.9 is covered on the extra extended life support

4.8 -- no support

if you still have RHEL4 on servers
it really is PAST the time to be thinking of upgrading hardware and software

rhel6.6 or rhel7.1

NOW

if you DO NEED rhel4 for legacy closed source software
reinstall rhel4.9 on a KVM using RHEL 7.1 as the host

Thanks for the replies, I am seeking to upgrade to RHEL 7.1 once I get my new server and then I will be able to load this one as well as a backup system.
