linux quotas

hi guys

I have set a quota for a user to 20MB now I want to extend it to 60 MB

Code:

Disk quotas for user ptst (uid 511):
     Filesystem  blocks   quota   limit   grace   files   quota   limit   grace
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-home
                     56   20000   21000               7       0       0

do I need something else part of change quota and limit values to 60000 and 61000?

edquota ptst change the values and after that user will have quota to 60MB? or do I need to do something else

Nope.. it should be enough. edquota updates the relevant binary files upon exiting and the filesystem should be immediately aware of the changes.
