Linux os backup like Ignite backup in HP-UX


Hi Guys,

I am new in linux world. I want to take linux os backup like Ignite backup in HP-UX.

How can I do that ??? plz help me

Intel based hardware will not boot from tape. In case of an disaster recovery, you have to boot from cd or usb and then restore your partitions.

Spell out your words. And this has been asked (and answered) on this site MANY times in the past. Check the Search tab at the top of the page before posting a question...you may find the answer without having to post.

Check into mondoarchive, systemimager, or mkcdrec. All of these tools can be used to create a 'clone' of a working system to bootable media. Some even support booting over the network, and mounting the ISO image via NFS.
