Linux on Compaq presario 1711T

my config
compaq presario 1711T 1GHz, 256MB ram, 15GB hardrive

I have been successful in getting dual boot of RH9 with XP and now need help with configuration

I have been unable to select the monitor from the list and have it as an unprobed monitor. The res I am getting is 800x600 whereas on XP I was able to get 1024x768

I would appreciate if someone could help me select the correct settings for the monitor. The graphics card adapter was correctly identified as ATI Mobility Radeon 6 and was installed.
