Linux on chromebook stopped showing files after update
I updated to a new version of ChromeOS this morning, and ever since Linux (Ubuntu) stopped showing things in my folders. Downloads is empty, Documents, everything, but I can still view them in ChromOS. Any help is appreciated.
Yes, I have a dual boot chromebook, simply because I don't like ChromeOS all that much and I wanted an actual desktop. Any ideas what might've happened?

Let me ask you, what happens when you use the command line (terminal, or so) to list files. It sounds like only the file manager is acting up. You might try reinstalling it. Maybe you could explain in a bit more detail.
I'm fairly new to linux, so I might have the wrong command, but when I do $ls -a /home/user/Downloads/ all it says is "Is a directory. Do I have the wrong command?
Edit: You said to reinstall it. If I were to uninstall File Manager, would anything unwanted happen? It says that if I uninstall it it will also remove the xfce4 Terminal Emulator and a few other things xfce4 related. I appreciate the help
Edit #2: Tried uninstalling it, simply said that I didn't have the privileges to do so.
Edit #3: I got it (more or less) working. However, my Chromebook and Linux files are no longer linked. So now my Linux desktop has its own Downloads folder and Chromebook has its own, and there's no way to access one from the other, which I actually prefer. Thanks for trying to help!
