Red face Linux newby. Just downloaded Knoppix 6. How do you enable cookies and javascript

My computer is a Dell inspiron 530, my router is a EDIMAX
I have no problem getting on the internet, its when I try to enter
my user name and password to get my e-mails I get problems..
My browser is ICEWEASEL, which loads quickly.
Iceweasel will not allow me to get my e-mails until I enable
cookies and java script. I checked under the EDIT command and
found cookies and javascript are both enabled but still unable
to get my emails..Everything works ok with knoppix 5.3.1

I am not exactly sure what you are asking. "it" is not very specific. Can you describe how you are trying to "get your emails"? Are you using a browser? pop3 client? what?
cheers,
jdk

frank-jones:

The email is handled by email client. Check if there is an email client installed in your system, like Thunderbird or seamonkey, if not then install one and configure it using Help documentations. This has nothing to do with cookies as an email client (like ms outlook express) if properly configured will certainly send and receive emails.

To enable cookies --
>> Launch Firefox
>> Click Edit, Preferences, Privacy
>> Tick "Accept cookies from sites", then click Close

Follow above instructions.

Check back if it works.

Goodluck Hope this helps.
