Linux Newbie Books
I'm just starting out with Linux. Got a PC running freesco as a router, one PC running GUI of Fedora Core 3 and another running Fedora Core 1 in text mode. I bought Fedora for Dummies and it is/was a good starter book, but drops the ball in a handful of places. Can anyone recommend a book for a newbie that wants to learn the lower level parts of the code? I'm really looking for a good reference book with a handful of examples.
Thanks in Advance, GJA |

A pretty useful book, mostly as a command reference is the O'Reilly - Linux in a Nutshell in my opinion
on Amazon UK It might lack some of the deeper background but is a nice desktop ref and gives you a good overview. But to be honest I learned more here, in howtos and by talking to others - still if you need a overview of commands, editors and shells it is def worth a look. Hope it helps |
Thanks, got the Linux in a Nutshell V4. I bit over my head (so much to learn), but at least I have something to help me sleep at night....
