I'm linux newbie. What is the best place to learn linux online?

Just get stuck in and ask when you hit something you don't understand. IRC is good for questions like "what command do i need for this" etc. These days most stuff can be done via a gui anyway

I would suggest to learn the command though, there might be a day you can only use the command and if you teach yourself only the gui way, you'll be totally lost. Familiarize yourself with a terminal and keyboard then move up to pretty graphics and a mouse. You'll find yourself way more effecient and understand how things work that way.
