Hi all. My newbie question is where I can download music for Linux OS/Red Hat 9/ And in which format is the music under Linux.

google for giFtd download and install, thenuse a front end like appollon. you can download the mp3 plugin for xmms from there website, or alternatively you can use apt/yum.

linux can play a variety of formats

i have xmms hooked up to play cd, mp3, ogg, and all video formats that mplayer can play, as well as a few other formats

all in all if a format is not supported by default, see if you can find a plugin to play it with xmms .. or perhaps find a conversion utility
