Linux Mint Question
I really like Linux Mint and prefer it more than any other distro of Linux. However there's one feature which I'm going to miss if I do decide to fully install it, and that's the software manager that Ubuntu has. It allows you to simply check a box, and install or uninstall software.
Now, in Linux Mint's "Software Manager", is there any way I can uninstall a program or will I have to go into Synaptic to uninstall every package I don't want/need? Thanks in advance. |
synaptics and the program manager are the same one is for installing up dates and the synaptics is for all your programs they both run from apt-get.let me know if you are using mint 6 I am and after a few updates the program manager is really not being used much.
|
Synaptic allows you to remove individual packages, but in Ubuntu the "Add/Remove" feature removed a program and the packages that were installed with it. I can't seem to be able to do that with the Software Manager in Linux Mint and it seems to me that the only way to remove software in Mint is to remove the packages myself in Synaptic, than have it done automatically for me like you can do with Ubuntu.
Am I right? :( |
I don't feel like waiting years for a reply you know.

1 hour is years to you? Everyone on the boards are here as volunteers and are giving up their own time to answer questions. Be patient.
