Linux Mint on Android tablet
I am a recent user of Linux, after 30 years of Microsot era. I was always trying to be in line with time. I am only an engaged user.
This year I decided to introduce dual boot Mint 18 distro on my win 7 PC. I am satisfied with this decision and hopefully will soon leave Microsoft on their way. I am wandering to install this distro also on some cheap android tablet for the future and am looking for the information how to do it to do it by myself. I am reading articles and forums for useful info. I know that I must learn a lot to understand the language talken here to reach the objective. Retired but vital resident of Earth. If anybody has similar intents/experience - hints are welcome. |
From another (hopefully) vital retiree: welcome to the forum!
Putting a conventional distro on a tablet may not be simple: Android and the tablet were designed to go together, after all. But it can be done: http://www.linux-magazine.com/Online...evice-to-Linux Distrowatch did a test of user-interfaces on touch-screens last year and they recommended using Gnome. Ubuntu does a special version for touch-screen devices: http://www.ubuntu.com/tablet http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/li...image-3531970/ |
I don't mean to discourage you but I know a few people that tried to install Linux on their tablets and it turned them into a brick.

LinuxMint doesn't make a "Tablet Edition".
