I have been using windows for a long time from 3.1 to vista and have been using Linux Mint8 for one day so please forgive my question if it sounds too silly.

I have googled and checked various forums but have been unable to find correct answer. Hope you can help.

I have on idea how to connect to the internet using a speedtouch 330 modem.

Not sure what to do I connected modem and phonejack
I clicked on "Network Connections"
I next clicked on "VPN Connections"
Options were Wired-Wireless-Mobile Broadband-VPN and DSL.
Took a stab and clicked on DSL, clicked on add filled in username and password. Restarted and did not connect.

All of the above may be totally wrong so be happy for any enlightenment.

Im not sure if the speedtouch will actually work.I had one a few years ago and had no luck with it.See if your ISP will give you a proper router/modem that you connect to through a network card rather that the usb connection that the speedtouch uses.I may be proved wrong by other members though and a fix may exist now.Good luck with it.

I doubt you need to use vpn by the way.
