Unless things have changed since I last tried it, which I doubt, there is no such thing as "the password for Mint". If you are being asked for a password, whether it be to log in or to do something which requires elevated privileges, it is the password you chose whilst installing.

Like with some other Distros, there is no special password for Mint. You set up a password, when you install Mint and that is the password you use, whenever you are prompted to do so.

The has been one exception to this: if you have been using a Debian based Mint install, which - as far as I know - has been discontinued.

If you're referring to Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE), it's still on the go: https://www.linuxmint.com/download_lmde.php

Ahhh yes, I referred to that one. I did not know it was still on the go.
I have checked upon Mint not too long ago but I did not find it anymore.
