Linux mint 18.1 cinnamon crashed

Hello,
I just installed linux mint 18.1 cinnamon a few days back and it is the only os in my computer right now. From very beginning in the time of boot and shut down it showed messages of error but it went too fast to read. It happens in dos may be. Today I installed NVIDIA driver and switched to it from intel graphics and after reboot a message showd which was something like this, "Linux-mint has just crashed, you are in fallback mode now".
Please help me get rid of this trouble.

OK, first of all..

Some more info would be handy. Like which video card doe your PC use?? Which NVIDIA driver did you install or try and install?

Driver Manager in the menu is the recommended way to install Video Drivers in LinuxMint.

kmohanta,

Welcome to LQ.

Software rendering problems often arise with using Cinnamon and, generally speaking, it is advisable to use the MATE version or Xfce instead.
