Linux mint 17 mplayer mencoder problem


I installed mplayer and mencoder from software manager.unable to see the applications.

how to open these applications?any help will be very much appreciated.thanks

They are both run from a terminal. If you open a terminal and type these commands, you will get some information about how these programs work.

...in case pure mplayer wasn't what you wanted, there's various gui frontends.
e.g. for debian stable:

gnome-mplayer
intone
kmplayer
mplayer-gui
smplayer
