Give more information ... what are you doing when it crashes? Are you using a Graphical Environment? Are you capable of switching to another virtual desktop and killing the frozen application?
You really need to give more information if you want to get real help :P
Mine does that to. I cut off the display power management thing that cuts off the monitor and I haven't had the problem so far. I think it actually cuts off the puter completly. It's under config/KDE/Power Control in the control menu. I just cut off the monitor with my finger!
