Linux Mail Clients - Sending

Morning Guys,
I have a situation in which my monitoring solution is responsible for sending mails out using Postfix. I already have other mail servers in my environment. With this in mind, do I still have to have Postfix installed on my monitoring server or is there another way for my linux box to reference another mail server?
