Linux Made Simple

Since this area of LQ forums is most likely to be frequented by guests or “lurkers” who may be hesitating about whether Linux really is for them, I am posting this here.
Please feel free to move it.

I have also put the same information as a blog, so that it may be found as archive material at a later date:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ginners-37304/

As well as using these LQ forums and blogs for valuable information, total newcomers to Linux may like to look at Linux Made Simple from the publishers of Linux Format magazine:
http://www.linuxformat.com/

Linux Made Simple is available FREE as a 143 page pdf:
https://ia801501.us.archive.org/12/i...le_2015_UK.pdf

Personally, I would much prefer on page 23 that they recommended creating 3 partitions, including a separate home partition, as here:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=122276

Apart from that minor quibble, Linux Made Simple is a useful basic introduction to those who wish to learn more about the world of Linux.

It should be "Linux Make Life Simple".

Thanks for putting up those resources.
