I need linux machine as my server which will have tomcat running my j2ee app.I am not a linux admin guy , We will be hosting our app in aws (amazon cloud) I can create a linux machine just by few clicks (with amazon cloud ),I want to know what machine configuration should I choose for a server , I will be installing tomcat in it and deploy my j2ee aap.
Please advice me what should I look for and what key configrations I should make to make it equavalent to a professional server.And I also need a mail server can I use linux mail server as smpt server for my app running on tomcat to send emails ?

I can't say what you need but I can say that when you second post your own topic, we think it has been answered and may never peek at it.

If it is any help, what I'd do is look at some pre-made virtual machines like from turnkey or even any live xammps or such that has what your application needs. Since it is java, I haven't played with that for years and can't say what is needed now.
