Linux Kernel

What is Linux Kernel?

Ser Olmy 07-14-2013 01:11 AM

The kernel is the core part of an Operating System, responsible for managing hardware and allocate resources like memory and CPU time to running processes.

(That's the shortest answer I could come up with.)

Wikipedia is always a good place to look.

That will give you all the information you could possibly want. ;)
