Hello, everyone!
I've got a friend who's got a Windows box that won't boot up. She wants to get files off of the hard drive before I attempt to screw around with it/reformat it.
So I grab the Knoppix 3.7 distro off of linuxisos.org, and I burn the .iso image to a CD using the right click menu. Okay. That was easy.
Unfortunately, I take the CDs home and I can't boot Knoppix up.
The same thing happened to a SuSE Professional 9.2 install I was looking at - I used the same procedure, but the installation disc can't find the packages and can't install anything at all.
I am confuzzled as to how this could be - has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, is there a solution or a workaround?
In advance, sorry if this is already in the answers section.
