We did try to correct your mistakes. You were told several times not to use text-speak and you went on using it regardless. That doesn't suggest to me that you are greatly interested in learning.

This is a community, not just a website. We usually welcome newbies in the hope that they will join our community and be able to help others in due course as they were helped, but we don't much care for people who are rude to us. I'm surprised actually that you got as many responses as you did, given your attitude.

Interesting concept. If you count all of my IOT devices around my home, I probably have at least a dozen running Linux. But since the OP asked about games, he obviously has a limited scope of Linux in the real world.

That was after the fact, I guess no one sees how I was being spoken to, the first few text threads. All in all I said thank you and tried to ignore the ones who came off as rude.

I don't see attitude as much as poorly-informed, naive and slightly infantile. The poster is incapable of constructing a proper sentence or of explaining the purpose of the survey, so I am guessing, High School.

I take back my earlier comment. I tried to excuse your attitude with inadequate education and inexperience, but I stand corrected. You have an attitude issue.

Had you asked your questions in your original post with more explanation and humility in describing your project, and had you used proper sentence construction and grammar, you might have had a hundred responses by now with a whole lot less snark.

But, since you state above that you can't be taught anything, I think this thread has reached a merciful conclusion.

Seriously?? No one was rude to you, and if you think anyone was, you're mistaken. You asked a vague, poorly-worded question, ignored the LQ rules, then complained about how no one 'guided' you. Despite being asked several times to NO use text-speak, you continue...yet you keep coming back to complain about how you were treated. You don't seem to comprehend that YOU are asking others to do things for you; to take time out of our day to answer your question so you can do your homework. And you then complain about how you're treated when people answer you.

I'll go with SteveMann's assessment here. Good luck getting help from anyone if you continue behaving like you do.

This thread seems no longer on topic and I a risk here is that it will continue to degrade.

Kween, please also be aware that the very first reply to your question was a polite request for clarification. Not interested in arguing how each and every member responded, but will say that I do feel polite guidance is the best way to go with any new member. Meanwhile, new members should be polite to take the time to determine if they're asking a question where from another's perspective, they'll understand the question, or your intentions about it. It really is a two way street. Please, let's keep things civil.

Reminder from the site rules, https://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/rules.html:
Quote:
  • Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated.
  • Do not post if you do not have anything constructive to say in the post.
  • When posting in an existing thread, ensure that what you're posting is on-topic and relevant to the thread. If the content of your post will interfere with the current discussion, you should start a new thread.
  • Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully ... without insult and personal attack. Differing opinions is one of the things that make this site great.

+1, not because I agree with you but because you finally stopped using text-speak. There is some punctuation missing but I do not want to be too pedantic. You have actually made some progress.

Kween, Please don't take things personal. If you feel that someone is being rude or bullying you there is an icon on the particular post that reads "Report"

That is where you get a chance to speak directly to the site owner or one of the members to look at your grievance. Otherwise I feel that many of the replies were good.

It is sometimes difficult for us to make heads or tails of new users. Some are not native English speaking, some are teenagers and even younger.

Fascinating, Captain.

Kween:

linux is about independence, about being in charge of and in control of your principal means of access to the outside world - something you can't get anywhere else

linux users do it themselves, they don't blindly follow instructions

linux users like to tinker with their boxes, even to the extent of blowing them up (figuratively, I hope) and having to rebuild them

linux users believe software should be free, open-source
