Linux installation reboot

I can't say that i am complete linux newbie, but i have strange problem with installation of every linux distribution ( tried trustix, slackware and red hat ) and i think that is good section.
I want to make home server, but it is not important, i have 486 and 32 mb ram for this. After booting from cd ( with special tool from slackware distibution ) I hit enter and setup loads some images and at last vmlinuz. After that my comp gets rebooted instead of running linux installation. Help please.
