Linux Installation Problem

I have win 2000 on my system and I am trying to install RHLinux7.0 alongwith this.
I am using work station as the installation type.after completing installation it
displays congratulations message and asks to press return after pressing return
system hangs on and does not reboot but after switching off the power and restarting
it boots in windows 2000, does not even ask to select other os whereas it should boot in
linux because in work station mode it overwites MBR.

I have tried in custom mode also but same problem occurs system hangs on and after restarting
it boots in win mode.

Is linux not able to overwrite MBR or there is some other problem.

Are you dual-booting off the same harddrive?

Here's how I got my dual boot system working.
I have a 30 gig HD. Using DOS FDISK I partitioned this into 2 15 gig parts and formatted them both FAT32. I then installed Win98 to first 15 gig partition. Then I stuck my Linux Slackware CD into my BOOTABLE cd-rw and rebooted and installed Linux to the 2nd partition. Of course formatting and partitioning the second 15 gig partition with Linux Fdisk. Now I can boot into either win98 or Linux on start-up using Lilo.

hope this helps
