Linux installation error
When i try to install Linux Redhat 8.0 on my computer it hangs at
blk: queue c02e836c, I/O limit 4095mb (mask 0xffffffff) my computer has plenty of HD space and 384 mb of ram (or somthing around that). Ive tried everything but it still hangs there. somone said in another thread that this was already solved in another post, but I cant seem to find that post. any solutions? |
hi there
maybe u should try formatting ur partiton or choose another partiton this seems a hdd error to me regards |
I had already formated my c: drive, and im pretty shure nothings on it anymore.
When I start my computer the normal way (with nothing in the cd drive) it says, NTLDR is missing CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart I dont know if that means nothing is there to startup from, or a file called NTLDR is missing. I could just re-install windows to see whats going on. ok, yes, i googled the NTLDR is missing error, and the NTLDR file is gone. Would it be alright if i just installed windows (and let it format the partition on install), and then just install linux over that? |
u can install windows
and linux on other partition regards |
ok, yes, thats what im going to do. im downloading Partition Magic now. Thank you.
happy newyears everyone! |
keep me posted on that!!
happy new year to you also! regards |
Have you tried a newer distro? RedHat 8.0 is way old.

I suggest that you locate the free MS utility DELPART and run this. It will remove all partitions and leave you a clean drive, ready to install to. Run the following google search for download delpart.exe and you'll find a source for it. Put it on a bootable floppy and run it from there. |
