Linux+ handson practice
 

I am looking for some handson labs to practice working with shell and environment variables, writing functions at the command line, etc. The labs in my CompTIA Linux+ Certification book are to generic. Thank you.

Install Fedora or CentOS on your computer? There are tools to shrink existing Windows partitions to free up disk space.

Or do you not have a computer at all? You don't mention where you are, but in the US there are places like Goodwill and Salvation Army second hand stores where you should be able to pick up an old but functional PC for a song.
