Post linux guest installation


hi everbody
i am new to linux.i just want to run linux(guest) on winxp(Host)on vmware.
Please tell me from where i download linux guest.and how i installed the same in vmware runing on winxp.

Download Any distro, which are available in various sites like www.distrowatch.com
Burn it into CD/DVD, and install it in vmware. I guess you know how to use vmware for installing an OS.

Lots of places to download Linux listed here. Good idea to choose which Linux you want first -- there's quite a variety available. Distrowatch (as posted by sayan_acharjee) aims to help choose. IDK vmware (I use VirtualBox) but you may not need to burn the .iso to CD/DVD -- you may be able to load .iso files directly to the VM as virtual CD/DVDs.
