Hi,

Is it advisable to use the linux OS from AsteriskNow installation, with the freepbx removed, to install a brand new copy of asterisk?

Please help.

Kind of your choice. The choice of a base OS is based on many things. I assume this is based on some distro already so once you know that you can proceed. The base distro ought to support your hardware in this case maybe as the single choice.
