i am new to linux.my linux hangs ifever i do something stupid.ithought linux didn,t freezes like windows
is there something in linux equivalent to task manager in windows
i know gnome systen monitor .but at that my mouse stops working.
If you're just wanting to see what processes are running and perhaps kill one, use the top command in a terminal. Top displays the processes as well as the resources they are using.
Like what are you doing? The only time linux has ever flat out frozen for me wasn't really a freeze, it was my video card insanely overheating and throttling itself and then shutting down the system.
iwas searching for mnt folder
idid put /home/mnt in konquerer and it did freeze
once i left it idle for more than 10 min
when idid come screensaver was not leaving on mouse click
When mine freezes, both the keyboard and mouse are useless. There's nothing left to do but push the magic button. Worse, the logs have recorded no problem.
