what modem do you own? Lots of drivers for software modems are available at
www.linuxant.com or else at linmodems.org if you own a (hayes compatible) hardware modem you don't need drivers at all. |

hi,
i just want to read the source code fr modem driver. just nw i dnt hv modem , bt if there is any opensource driver fr fax data modem , thn i will buy tht one... Regards, Mehul |
Under linux you won't need any drivers if you buy a hayes
compatible hardware modem. Mine is an e-tech external hardware modem (www.e-tech.nu), I just had to connect it to the serial port, it was recognized directly, and it has worked perfectly ever since. Don't bother with software modems unless you really have to! |

maybe you can get a tip or two from these links
especially the first one. Or ask these people about the codes. Modem (problems may occur due to WinModem) http://www.linmodems.org/ http://start.at/modem http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/ http://www.linuxant.com/ -> drivers -> Conexant (Conexant) http://axion.physics.ubc.ca/ppp-linux.html (PPP) Sheng-Chieh |
