Linux drivers for the Toshiba Satilite Pro A200 notebook laptop


hi i am going to put on lnux any of them becuase vista and xp are slow and cause alot of errors the specs of the notbook are 512mb ram 80gb hard drive intel pentium dual core 1.73ghz windows xp pro sp3 it had etc

I'm very new to linux so someone correct me if I'm wrong but if the drivers didn't get automatically installed you either have to compile your own (program them) or get lucky and find someone that already has for the same exact setup (unlikely) if you're that new to linux you may just wanna try a different distro I installed the latest Ubuntu on my laptop and it had every driver built in.

Have you seen this page? It looks like most of the hardware will be supported out of the box, depending on the distribution you choose.

well on that website its talking about changeing some lines of something in a document dont get it when i install ubuntu i think the drivers i have for the toshiba xp/vista will be incompable am not sure if the drivers are built into ubuntu

what ubuntu the latest one has all the built in drivers for most comp/laptops?

don't try installing drivers for windows they won't even open.

Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) is the latest version.

what did you mean it had all drivers built in to the os for nearly any comp right? i need linux drivers or theres no point

actually the one thing that is improtant is WIRELSS!!! I NEED IT FOR THAT OS AND THE DRIVERS FIND ME A PLACE WHERE I CAN STRIGHT A WAY GET THE DRIVERS INSTEAD OF A PAGE THAT I DONT GET
