Unhappy linux drivers for hp pavilion 2701tx

hey there!
i've bought HP PAVILION 2701TX recently... it came preinstalled with windows vista. I wanted to downgrade it to fedora or suse or any other LINUX version... but i'm not able to install LINUX on my model.
Its like wensoevr i enter the installation i'm prompted to insert the driver disk or select driver partition.. the official hp site provided only xp drivers for my model! does that means there are no LINUX drivers for my machine??? plzz help me out people....i've been serching this for long and got really no help from the service centers... :-(

You can downgrade VISTA to XP, but certainly not to any other OS...
By the way if, you want to _ERASE_ VISTA and install linux over it, or keep VISTA and installing beside of it, there's no problem...

Which linux and wich version do you try to install? Since your laptop is quite common, I think that you're trying to install an old version which can't drive SATA disk...

Linux world is really different, _ALL_ drivers are provided by the linux community into the linux kernel (there's some exceptions for exotic devices), so when you install a linux OS, maybe you have to configure drivers, but there's no need to install them since they are there...

thanks.. it came out to be a minor prb!... hv finally installed fedora 9.. n its looking awesome! jus one lil thing m working wid it on my lappy..wensoever i have to open a window or nything as simple as a strt menu i hv to press d left keypad rather than usual a slight push (touch) on my scroll pad...it jus cums out to be a tedious task!
i guess there are some settings to change d way... hvnt been able to plot em out yet..
