Linux distros wich has a "text mode" option at initialization

Hello! I've found myseft as a Linux enthusiast a couple of days ago

After trying many diferent LiveCD Distros I found one that is pretty perfect for me, the SLAX one, especially because it gives me the option to start directly on a command line mode (wich is what I'm focusing now).

So I'm wondering what others distros have this option at startup. I guess Slackware has this too right? Can you sugest any other distro with that option?

Thanks very much!

How does the answer of ALL distros grab you

The starting runlevel is generally controlled by the file - /etc/inittab (different on some distros)

Also in general, setting the 'X' in the following line to a '3' will be to the command prompt and to '5' will be a GUI environment of some description:
Code:
id:X:initdefault:

Any distro can do that. You just have to edit your boot menu. It's usually in either /boot/grub/menu.lst or /etc/lilo.conf depending on the bootloader you use (grub or lilo, usually). If you let us know which boot loader do you use and / or you paste here your boot configuration file we can tell you the changes you need to do to add such option to your boot menu.
