linux distros

i need a distro that can be installed on a 2gb hdd and supports marvel wiress card drivers

Check out some smaller distros like DamnSmallLinux or Puppy if you want a minimal linux distro. Full slackware installation takes about 3GB so you could go with that and strip few unneeded packages.

For the Marvel wireless card, I've no idea if it will work straight away but I'd quess you'd need to install ndiswrapper and use windows driver with it. If you have the precise model you could google more info for your card to see how it works on Linux.

connorwat51:

Try Gnu/Linux Mint 6 XFCE. It installed light and fast.
User friendly, ease of use and elegant. Based on Debian and Ubuntu, so the driver support is wide, and once the system is online you have the option to install additional software or not. This is done easily by mouse clicks.

It also offers you the choice to install firmware drivers.

There are many linuxes that can meet your criteria, Mint 6 is one. Finding them you simply try them all until one fits your taste.

Use the live CD to run it before you install.

Hope this helps.

Choose a mirror from this page to download Linux Mint6 with XFCE: http://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=35. Do you know you can download linux from the LQ download site? Visit this page for more: http://iso.linuxquestions.org/linux-...int-6-fluxbox/
