Linux conflicks
Have Lubuntu installed; cannot install other linux distros to evaluate. When making D: drive a slave or Cable Select, cannot format drive using win XP from drive C: Win XP won't recognize the(D:) drive with Lubuntu or Linux formats (Drive is set as a master and wired alone when loading Linux). Any Linux distro have a format option?
Thank You, |
Not 100% sure what you mean. There normally is a format utility when booting from the install disk. What other distro are you attempting to install?
|
Linux can recognize Windows File systems. Windows has never acknowledged Linux file systems. So there you go.
I don't understand your Lubuntu comment. Quote:

Linux "evaluating" Project glitches
Replies from John VV and Rokytnji have been helpful...comment about windows not seeing Linux files tells a lot....Lubuntu is now installed on the drive and Linux Mint 16
would not install at all. very appreciative for the insights.... |
if you think an answer was really helpful just press YES (bottom right corner). If you need further help please give us more detail "Linux Mint 16
would not install at all" is not enough. What have you tried, what's happened .... Also please answer: how old is your computer? What kind of devices you have (sata, IDE, .....). |
