Linux config

How can I change the default programs used to open files in X? As well as email addresses opened from Firefox etc. I would have thought they would all be stored in a nice config file somewhere and I might be dissapointed it that's not the case

Thanks.

Slack10 + Xfce

EDIT: I just realized you put Xfce as you WM under your name (Sorry!). In this case, I'm not sure exactly what you would use.

You should take a look at http://www.loculus.nl/xfce/documentation/. The file manager section should contain what you need (looks like CTRL+O).

Regards,

zakaluka2.
