Here's a start --> http://linux.die.net/man/

"directory of Linux commands" from "Linux in a Nutshell, 5th Edition."
http://www.oreillynet.com/linux/cmd/ "LinuxCommand" http://www.linuxcommand.org/index.php "Bash Guide for Beginners" http://tldp.org/LDP/Bash-Beginners-G...tml/index.html "Linux Online - Linux Courses" http://www.linux.org/lessons/ ------ LINUX: ------ "Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition" http://rute.2038bug.com/rute.html.gz |
One doesn't memorize a dictionary in order to increase one's vocabulary; one reads books, instead. At least,
that's a better way of doing it. Similarly, if you want to learn Unix commands you should learn them in context. Possible places to start: 1. Introduction to Linux. See also other documentation on the tldp site. 2. Rute. 3. Official documentation for your distro, e.g. Here, for Red Hat. 4. The FreeBSD Handbook is excellent, even for Linux users. |

This web site has been a big help for me http://www.ss64.com/bash/ It has a list of all the Bash Shell commands with explanations and how-tos for each command.
