Linux command

define mkdir -p command and what does it do?

I assume that you are unable to understand the man page ! But it is recommended to try out and figure out the elementary stuff on your own :-
sudo mkdir -p /nk/helo/test
this will create all the parent dirs as reqd i.e if there was the /nk dir to start with, then it will create a helo dir and then the test dir. The following command will complain :-
sudo mkdir /nk/helo/test
Note the missing -p switch
mkdir: cannot create directory `/nk/helo/test': No such file or directory

How can this be anything other than homework???

Connect to a server and do this:
man mkdir
Read the answer.
Move on to the next question.
